automatic redundancy and failover
Many companies and organizations have plans for business continuity In the event of an outage. For the most part, however, these plans focus on data and not on communicating customers, suppliers and staff.
Appia addresses this shortfall by dynamically rerouting inbound calls to predetermined destinations, such as alternate IP-PBXs, home phones, IP phones, or mobile phones.
- Normal Condition - Calls are sent to destination ‘A’ over the voice-optimized Appia network. Destination ‘B’ is idle
- Failover Condition – Calls cannot be delivered to ‘A’ due to equipment, network or other outages. So the calls are sent to ‘B’
- Restored Condition – Once the ‘A’ location has been restored, calls are again delivered to ‘A’. ‘B’ returns to idle.
