AVC Makes Telepresence Affordable

Video communication from suite to PCWe’re excited to announce that our Appia Video Communication (AVC) platform has been enhanced to provide a telepresence experience in full 1080p resolution.

AVC now offers resolutions from 320x240 through 1920x1080, giving users unparalleled flexibility. Lower resolutions conserve bandwidth and computing power, while higher resolutions provide the same telepresence capabilities of systems that cost 10 times as much.

Business-quality video communication is an effective and efficient way to cut down on travel costs and hassles, and we’re making it easier than ever to benefit from video throughout your organization. For more information and a free demonstration, contact your Appia Partner, your Regional Manager, or visit www.appiavideo.com.

Protect Your Network Hardware with WANNet

Network device failures are a leading cause of network underperformance and outages. Some vendor support programs, such as Cisco’s SMARTnet, do provide relatively inexpensive “insurance” in the event of a hardware failure after the warranty expires.

Are you protected from device failure?Still, even with these services, customers are left to fend for themselves when it comes to coordinating actual hardware repair, replacement or updates. Juggling service contracts with multiple vendors can also require a lot of time, energy and expertise.

We can handle all of that for you with our WANNet service. WANNet manages your service contracts and picks up where they leave off, going the extra mile to give you expert support throughout the process. WANNet makes Appia your single point of contact for unlimited remote support, replacement of defective devices, and on-demand access to software upgrades.

WANNet includes:

  • Unlimited access to Appia's 24/7/365 Help Desk for faster problem resolution

  • A single point of contact for multiple vendor products

  • Replacement of defective components

  • Software upgrades

Sometimes, hardware that appears to need repair or replacement is in fact malfunctioning for other reasons (e.g., improper configuration, etc.). These issues can often be resolved remotely, and WANNet includes remote diagnosis and problem-solving.

WANNet supports all Cisco products, as well as devices from many other vendors. To learn more about all of Appia’s network support options, contact your Appia Partner or your Regional Manager.

TecHint: Easy and Free Image Editor

Paint.NETPhotos and logos are great for your website and marketing materials, but if you ever get stuck with something that needs to be resized or otherwise adjusted, there are a number of free image editors available. We think one of the best is still Paint.NET (www.getpaint.net), a free image and photo editing program for Windows. It’s stable, easy to use and surprisingly feature-rich.
