“The biggest benefit has been time savings — especially administratively. Everything is integrated under one setup and one user. I’ve saved a lot of hours in the last six months not running from PC to PC.”

Stopping threats at the network door
Appia’s Intrusion Protection System (IPS) is signature-based technology that currently contains over 1,000 signatures. Signatures are updated as new vulnerabilities are discovered. IPS compares the list of signatures with network activity. When a match is found, the IPS sensor takes action, such as logging the event, sending an alert, or automatically blocking.
IPS can be applied on a customer-by-customer basis.
Example signatures:
- Name: Jolt2 Fragment Reassembly DoS attack
- Action: Deny packet, alert, and log event
- Name: IP Fragment Overwrite - Data is Overwritten
- Action: Deny packet, alert, and log event
- Name: Microsoft Exchange SMTP Overflow
- Action: Alert and log event
